Fit Fest 2024: A Day of Fitness, Fun, and Philanthropy

The Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation (OCCF) is thrilled to share the success of our recent event, Fit Fest 2024! It was the ultimate day of fitness and family fun as nearly 300 racers of all skill levels braved the wind to take part in Skye Canyon’s annual Fit Fest. From novices to trailblazers, and even those just seeking a leisurely stroll, participants enjoyed a day filled with racing and fitness-focused activities, including a vibrant Wellness Festival at Skye Canyon Park.

Thanks to Skye Serves, a branch of OCCF, we are proud to announce that 100% of the proceeds from racer registration were donated to the Kline Veterans Fund. This well-attended event raised an impressive $11,600 for the charitable organization, which provides crucial financial assistance and other support to homeless, at-risk, and indigent veterans and their families in Southern Nevada.

The day began with a solemn presentation of the colors by the UNLV Air Force ROTC Honor Guard, followed by a rousing rendition of the national anthem sung by the talented Nikki Preston. The excitement continued with an opening ceremony and a dynamic warmup session led by Club Pilates, marking the official start of the 5k/8k Road Race and the 1-Mile Fun Run.

Fit Fest 2024 was truly a family affair, with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. Children enjoyed a rock wall, an inflatable obstacle course, and a variety of games, ensuring smiles all around. After the races, participants had the opportunity to refuel with delicious offerings from local favorite food trucks, satisfying the appetites of racers and spectators alike.

This year, the Wellness Festival was a highlight, featuring nearly 40 local vendors. Families explored an array of health and wellness products and services, adding an extra layer of enrichment to the day.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the top finishers and all participants. Congratulations to everyone who took part, making Fit Fest 2024 a memorable and impactful day.
